RdPod for Chrome

The RdPod Etsy Chrome Extension

RdPod data under every Etsy listing while you browse: views, favorites, search rank, tag demand and dates, plus a page board and highlight rules.

The RdPod extension adds a compact block of RdPod data under each listing while you browse Etsy, so you can judge a product without leaving the page. It is free to install from the Chrome Web Store and works with an RdPod account; what it shows depends on your account’s plan.

What it shows on Etsy

Under every listing

On Etsy search, category, shop and listing pages, each listing gets an RdPod block with:

  • Views: total views, average views per day and views in the last 24 hours.
  • Favorites and the favorite rate (favorites per view).
  • Dates: when the listing was created and last updated.
  • Search rank on Etsy search pages, and how many people have it in their cart when Etsy shows that.
  • Tags with a demand level (high, medium or low) and a trend, plus the listing’s category, with one-click copy and a tag audit.

Fields that are not included in your plan show a lock instead of a number. A number RdPod estimates rather than measures is marked with “~”.

On a listing page

A 30-day chart of views per day, and a bar to download all of the listing’s photos as one ZIP file or copy an image.

On a shop page

A shop panel under the shop header with tabs for an overview, the shop’s listings (sortable by views, favorites or date), favorites and reviews.

In the side panel

  • Page board: every listing on the current Etsy page in one table, which you can sort, filter and export to CSV.
  • Highlight rules: outline the listings that meet up to three conditions at once, for example at least 20 views a day and created in the last 10 days.
  • Saved listings, to come back to later.

The extension is available in English, Vietnamese, German and French, and follows Chrome’s language unless you choose one.

How to set it up

  1. Install RdPod from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Create a free RdPod account, or sign in to your account.
  3. In the app, open Account › Extension and make a sign-in key.
  4. Click the RdPod icon in Chrome, paste the key and sign in. Open any Etsy search page and the blocks appear.

You can revoke a key at any time from the same Account tab.

What it reads, and what it does not

The extension asks for four permissions: storage, sidePanel, alarms and access to www.etsy.com only. It runs on Etsy pages and nowhere else.

  • Listings and shops. To look up its numbers, it sends RdPod the IDs of the Etsy listings and shops on the pages you open, with the public listing details Etsy gives your browser, such as the title, tags, price, favorites and stock count, and the public counters of a shop page you open (sales, listings, admirers and reviews).
  • Etsy searches. On an Etsy search page you open, it also sends the search terms in the page address and the page’s public results: the order of the listings shown (including which of them are ads), the number of results, Etsy’s refinement chips and Etsy’s suggested searches for those terms.
  • Other listings of a shop. On a shop page, it may also read, at a gentle pace, the same public details for other listings of that shop, from Etsy’s public listing pages and data, not only the part you see on screen.
  • RdPod uses this to compute aggregate market metrics and to count, across all extension accounts together, which search terms, shops and listings are looked at most. Those counts never show what one person looked at, and the data is not linked to your Etsy identity.
  • It keeps your settings, your sign-in key, saved listings, highlight rules, a short-lived cache and a short queue of data waiting to be sent in Chrome’s storage on your computer.
  • It does not record your clicks or keystrokes, does not read your Etsy account, messages, orders or payment details or any page outside Etsy, and does not post, edit or buy anything on your Etsy account.
  • It does not use Etsy’s official developer API: it reads the Etsy pages you open and the public Etsy data your browser can load for them.

Section 15 of the privacy policy describes all of this in full, including how long the readings are kept. RdPod does not sell your data.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is the RdPod Chrome extension free?

It is free to install from the Chrome Web Store. It needs an RdPod account, and what it shows depends on that account's plan; fields outside your plan show a lock.

Which pages does the extension work on?

Etsy search, category, shop and listing pages on www.etsy.com. It has no access to other websites.

What data does the extension send to RdPod?

The IDs of the Etsy listings and shops on the pages you open, with their public details such as title, tags, price, favorites and stock count, the public counters of a shop page, and on Etsy search pages the search terms and the public results (the order of the listings, which are ads, the number of results and Etsy's suggested searches). It does not record clicks or keystrokes, and the privacy policy describes it in full.

Can the extension change anything in my Etsy shop?

No. It only reads public Etsy pages and data and adds RdPod's data next to them. It never posts, edits or buys anything on your Etsy account.
