Etsy Seasonal Calendar 2027: When to List for POD

Peak dates, post-by dates and hard deadlines for the main 2027 occasions, from the date rules the RdPod app uses.

A seasonal listing earns its sales before the holiday, not on it. Buyers start searching weeks ahead, and a new listing needs time to settle into Etsy search before they arrive. Post a Mother’s Day design the week before Mother’s Day and most of its buyers have already bought.

Below are the 2027 occasions that matter most to print-on-demand shops, each with a peak, a post-by date and a hard deadline from the rules the RdPod app uses. Every date is estimated: the rules are for planning, not a promise of ranking.

Dates from RdPod’s calendar rules and occasion data · checked October 23, 2026 · the football final date follows a rule (second Sunday of February); confirm it against the official schedule

How the dates work

  • Peak: the day itself, or the middle of a season such as graduation. It follows a fixed date, a weekday rule (US Mother’s Day is the second Sunday of May) or, for Easter, the church calculation.
  • Post by: six weeks before the peak, moved earlier when buyers in our data start searching earlier, as they do for Halloween and Christmas.
  • Hard deadline: three weeks before the peak. RdPod assumes a new listing needs three to six weeks to settle into search, so a listing started later is unlikely to rank in time. Keep it for next year.

These are RdPod’s planning rules, not Etsy rules: Etsy does not publish how long a new listing takes to rank.

2027 runs in chains

In spring 2027, three post-by dates land exactly on the peak of the occasion before them:

  • Valentine’s Day and the football final share Sunday, February 14. That same day is the post-by date for Easter.
  • Easter is early in 2027 (March 28, against April 5 in 2026), and Easter Sunday is the post-by date for Mother’s Day.
  • Mother’s Day (May 9) is the post-by date for Father’s Day.

So you will design for the next occasion while still fulfilling the current one. A shop that waits for one holiday to end before starting the next will be late for every spring occasion in 2027. Block the design time early; each occasion page gives a “start preparing” date for it.

Later in the year, Halloween searches start in mid-September (post by September 15) and Christmas searches around November 10. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are shopping events, not design themes: what sells that week is the catalog that is already ranking.

Trademark basics for seasonal designs

The trouble rarely comes from the holiday itself but from what sellers attach to it: team names, characters, tour names and lyrics, candy and beer brands. Etsy removes listings when a rights holder reports them, and repeated reports can cost a shop its selling privileges. The table’s cautions are examples, not a full list and not legal advice. Before you build a line around a phrase, search it in the USPTO trademark database and read Etsy’s intellectual property policy.

The occasion calendar in the RdPod app is included in every plan, Free too. It puts each occasion on one timeline with its post-by date and hard deadline, warns you when a deadline is close, and shows how many listings in RdPod’s data mention the occasion and how many were posted in the last 30 days. FAQ

Questions, answered.

When should I list seasonal items on Etsy?

RdPod's rule is six weeks before the occasion, or earlier when buyers start searching earlier, with a hard deadline three weeks before. For Valentine's Day 2027 that means posting by January 3 and no later than January 24 (both estimated).

Are these dates exact?

The peaks of fixed holidays are exact days. The post-by dates and hard deadlines are planning estimates from RdPod's rules, not Etsy rules, and the football final date follows a rule (second Sunday of February) that you should confirm against the official schedule.

Why is the Halloween post-by date earlier than six weeks?

In RdPod's occasion data, buyers start searching for Halloween around mid-September, so the post-by date moves back to September 15 to meet them. Christmas works the same way, with a post-by date of November 10.

Do the trademark cautions cover every risk?

No. They are examples of well-known protected names for each occasion and they are not legal advice. Search a phrase in the USPTO trademark database and read Etsy's intellectual property policy before you rely on it.
