Enter a price and your costs to see every Etsy fee on one order, your profit, your margin and the lowest price that does not lose money. The calculator runs in your browser: nothing you type is sent anywhere, and you do not need an account. It assumes one item per order, priced in US dollars, and leaves out sales tax that Etsy collects from the buyer.

The example above is a $24.99 shirt with free shipping for the buyer, an $11.50 blank and print cost and $4.75 paid for shipping, sold by a US shop. Etsy’s fees come to $2.82, about 11.3% of the price.

Every Etsy fee, explained

Listing fee: $0.20

Each listing costs $0.20 and stays live for four months. Print-on-demand listings usually carry a quantity above one, and Etsy charges another $0.20 for each additional item sold, so the calculator counts $0.20 for every one-item order.

Transaction fee: 6.5%

6.5% of the order total: the item price after any discount, plus the shipping and gift wrap you charge. Free shipping does not avoid it; it only moves the shipping cost into your price, where the fee applies anyway.

Payment processing

A percentage of the sale price including shipping, plus a fixed fee per order. Both depend on the country of your shop’s bank account. Canada and Australia charge a higher rate on international orders: for a Canadian shop, buyers outside Canada and the US; for an Australian shop, buyers outside Australia. Etsy also charges it on any sales tax in the order total, which this calculator leaves out.

Regulatory operating fee

A small percentage on item price, shipping and gift wrap, charged to sellers in some countries, including the UK, Canada, France and Vietnam.

Currency conversion: 2.5%

Charged when you list in one currency (here, US dollars) and your bank account is in another. Listing in your payout currency avoids it.

Offsite Ads: 15% or 12%

Only on orders that come from an Etsy ad shown outside Etsy: 15% of the order for shops that made under $10,000 on Etsy in the past 12 months, 12% from $10,000, and never more than $100.00 per order. Choose “None” for ordinary orders.

Etsy Ads

What you spend on Etsy’s own ads. Divide a month’s ad spend by the orders it brought in and enter the result per order.

VAT on Etsy fees

In many countries Etsy adds VAT or GST to the fees themselves. The calculator applies your country’s standard rate to the sum of all fees above; change it if your shop pays another rate.

From fees to a price

The break-even price is the floor, not the target. It covers Etsy’s fees and your costs and leaves nothing for your time, returns or ads. A useful next step is to look at what similar listings charge: RdPod’s market data shows the prices and measured views per day of listings for a keyword, which helps you see where a design can sit.
